Buy?: You’d better!
This album marks the ninth studio album by the incredible alternative/funk rock band The Red Hot Chili Peppers. This is quite possibly their best work yet. A double album containing 28 tracks, the songs flow perfectly from one to another and are all absolutely incredible. Anthony Kiedis, the bands lead singer stated in a Rolling Stones interview that it was “by far the best thing we’ve ever done.” It remained #1 on the Billboard Top 200 for 2 weeks in the US and has sold close to 2 million albums in the US alone, and over 6 – 6.5 million world wide.
In a nutshell this is quite possibly the best album I’ve ever purchased. It has taken up 2 of the 6 slots in my car’s CD changer since it’s release.
There were also 3 singles that came from this album: Tell Me Baby, Dani California, and Snow (Hey Oh). Each of these singles featured a “b-side” to the album containing 3 unreleased songs that were to go on the album before they were cut. That makes 9 unreleased songs from the album on the singles (EP’s). I haven’t seen these EP’s in any record stores but have seen them on the iTunes music store. Check ’em out!
