Tent Dilema
By Rants&Raves on Jan 21, 2009 in General
Trying to decide between one of these two tents. I have a Golite and I have a Marmot. They’re a 1 person and 3 person respectively and both are really great tents! I would like to have a huge base-camp tent, though. Here’s two I found on Campmor that look really promising/awesome. I’m strung between them however…which would you recommend?
- Sleeps 6
- Main fly and floor seams are factory taped for weather protection
- Freestanding design is easy to set up
- Bathtub floor keeps seams taut and high off the ground for superior protection
- Straight Walled Cabin style tent provides more usable space than most other domes
- 2 Rooms – combination (floorless) screenroom and sleeping area
- Screen Room does not have a floor, but it has a perimeter sod cloth to keep bugs away
- Multi-coated polyester fly covers non-closable mesh roof
- Screenroom has lighting system hang loops
- Polyester fly won’t stretch and resists UV damage better than nylon
- Hybrid fiberglass/steel frame is sturdy and reliable
- Fast Clip and sleeve assembly is easy to set up and take down
- Poles attach to tent body via pin and ring for fast and easy set up
- Gear loft/organizer included for overhead storage and convenience
- 1 small Mesh Gear Storage pocket included
- No-see-um mesh windows and roof keep the smallest winged creatures at bay
- All mesh roof for excellent ventilation
- 7 large windows with internal Storm Flaps provide excellent 4 way ventilation
- Twin track zippers for separate operation windows in the doors
- External guy points on the fly help secure your tent in high winds and feature pockets to store the rope when not in use or when packing up
- Guyline pockets store guylines when not in use
- Hooded windows allow for ventilation even in rain
- Sweep Out Point – for easy cleaning of the tent floor
- E Power Port – allows a grounded extension cord to run into the tent for AC power in the tent
- All carry bags and stakes included
- Fire retardant
